Co-Captain and Fishmonger
John is practically a fish. An avid diver, fisherman and surfer, he has a true appreciation, respect and love for the ocean. If John isn’t in the water, he’s concocting new dishes with his latest catch. His passion for food started with a job on a fishing boat during his teen years. The job was merely an excuse to fish and cook everyday. Those fishing trips only fueled his obsession for all things ocean. For the past 7 years, John was the executive chef and co-owner of Tokyo Go Go, one of the top sushi restaurants in San Francisco, CA. Before joining Tokyo Go Go, John was a sushi chef at Café Japango in San Diego, CA. John is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, CA. He also has a degree in Economics from UCSC.
